And the Lord turned, and looked upon Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he had said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. (Luke 22:61)

After the last supper, we read an important conversation between Jesus and Peter.

Peter wants to overcome world in the flesh but Jesus confirms it to peter that we can not overcome world with flesh but by his Holy Spirit. Peter said, he even was ready to die for Jesus but the same Peter denied Jesus thrice to save his life. God knows every weakness of our flesh and we can never boast before him. We can never please God in flesh. We should serve God in his own way and that’s the way of the Holy Spirit.

Bible says, Lord turned and looked upon Peter and Peter went out and wept bitterly. One look of the Lord reminds us that the Lord know all our weaknesses and we cannot please him in flesh. Even we try, we will fail. Peter wept , Peter understood that he can only serve JESUS in Spirit and he should never boast in flesh.

May the eyes of the Lord fall upon you ! May your understanding be opened that you cannot please God in flesh but only in Spirit.

May the Lord fill you with his Holy Spirit in fulness.
