One of the most commonly heard sentence in the Christian life is ‘The will of God’

We all strive hard to do the will of God. Whoever does the will of God and be obedient to the cross will be drawn into the kingdom of God.

And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me. (John 12:32 KJV)

The above verse is divided into two parts.

1) JESUS will be lifted up from the earth.
2) He is also willing to draw all men unto him.

What is the major hindrance in doing the will of God ?

And Saul said unto Samuel, I have sinned: for I have transgressed the commandment of the Lord, and thy words: because I feared the people, and obeyed their voice. (1 Samuel 15:24 KJV)

The fear of man is probably the most powerful force and major hindrance which causes you to sin. It will separate you from the will of God. We see in the above verse, how Saul have committed sin and transgressed the commandment of God. Many times we try to please people around us because we fear that we might loose them or our position among them might get disturbed. The process of this fear will take us into the nets of pleasing people.

Pilate gave the crowd what it wanted, set Barabbas free and turned Jesus over for whipping and crucifixion. (Mark 15:15)

Pilate handed over Jesus for whipping and crucifixion because he fulfilled what people desired but Lord Jesus quietly submitted himself to the will of the father. He obeyed the cross & shame because his only desire is to submit to the will of the father.

The life of Jesus is submitted to the will of God. He never pleased man nor feared his position on the earth. Nature of pleasing man is root of anti christ !!

Let us come out of the nets of man pleasing – which is a stumbling block in our spiritual life and follow the foot steps of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen
